Description
Our Rustic Wedding Cake has Italian buttercream with a soft ruffled texture, decorated simply with silk flowers and foliage. It suits countryside and city weddings alike.
Choose from a 2 tier for about 48, a large 2 tier for about 72 or a 3 tier for about 90, with each tier about 5" tall. Pick your flavours, and tell us your flower or foliage colours in the floral preference box. If you don't, we'll make it as pictured.
Our 3 tier cakes have a support column through the middle for the journey, which leaves a small hole in the top that we cover with the flowers or fruit. If you don't want anything on top, let us know and we'll cover it with extra buttercream once it's delivered.
We deliver wedding cakes free to venues across Sussex, Surrey and London in our own vans, or you can collect from our bakery in Burgess Hill. You can book up to 18 months ahead, and we recommend around 3 months. If we have availability, we can sometimes make it with as little as 48 hours' notice. Not sure on flavours? At Harry Batten, we stand behind everything we bake. If something has gone wrong with your order and it's down to us, for example it was damaged before it reached you, it isn't what you ordered, or there's a problem with the quality, we'll put it right. That might be a replacement, a partial refund or a full refund, depending on what's happened.
Just get in touch within 48 hours of receiving your order with your order number, a short description of the problem and a photo, so we can see what's gone wrong.
We can't offer a refund where there's nothing wrong with the bake itself, for example if it simply wasn't to your taste, or if it was damaged after delivery or collection, or wasn't stored as advised.
Any refund goes back to your original payment method and can take 5 to 7 working days to show, depending on your bank. This doesn't affect your statutory rights.
FAQs
Can we try the flavours first?
Yes. Our Wedding Cake Taster Box has six of our wedding flavours, or order both boxes to try all twelve. There are vegan and gluten friendly versions too. We post them free anywhere in the UK on Wednesdays, so they arrive on the Thursday.
Do you deliver to our venue?
Yes. Our own drivers deliver wedding cakes free to venues across Sussex, Surrey and south London, and we always arrive before your guests. We recommend delivery on the day of your wedding, and there are paid early time slots if your guests arrive during our free delivery window. You can check your venue's postcode here, or collect from our Burgess Hill bakery.
Does the cake arrive ready to display?
Yes. Every wedding cake arrives fully assembled and securely boxed, with an internal support structure. Our 3 tier cakes have a support column through the middle, and the small hole it leaves in the top is covered by the flowers or fruit. If you're providing your own flowers, your florist or someone from your wedding party will need to add them at the venue.
How do I place an order?
We take all orders via the website, this process has been designed to be as simple and easy as possible, you simply:
- Select your product, add it to the cart.
- Choose your delivery or collection date. For posted orders, choose the day you'd like it to arrive.
- Pay securely via debit or credit card. You will receive an order confirmation via email once the order has been placed.
What is the shelf life of your bakes?
All our cakes will keep for 5 days after delivery/collection, with the exception of cakes containing fresh fruit, which should be eaten within 2 days.
Our brownies and cookies will also keep for around 5 days and will have a "use by" date on the box.
Can you do a custom cake?
Yes, we do! In addition to the non-custom cake options available on our website, we can also create any cake you can imagine. Simply send us a message through the website to discuss your ideas.
How much notice do you require?
We need 48 hours' notice for most cakes, and you can book up to 18 months ahead. You choose your delivery or collection date when you order. If you need a cake sooner, get in touch and we'll see what we can do.
For wedding cakes, we recommend booking around 3 months ahead, but if we have availability we can sometimes take an order with as little as 48 hours' notice.
Brownies and cookies are delivered Wednesday to Saturday. Order by midnight and we'll post them the next day, so they should arrive the day after. You can also choose a delivery date months ahead.
